This Statement is intended to provide you with information about what personal data SABRINA O’CARROLL collect about you and how it is used and sets forth your privacy rights, in accordance with the Irish laws in data protection and the UE General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Who we are

SABRINA O’CARROLL CONSULTING is an Irish based Legal Nursing Consultancy firm that specialize in the medico legal field undertaking specialist assessment and investigations and the preparation of expert reports for use in legal proceedings. For that purpose, we need to collect your personal data.

Why we collect your personal data

We collect and process your personal data for various purposes and under diverse legal basis.

  • With your consent to our processing your personal data for one or more specific purposes.
  • For the performance of a contract to which you are party or in order to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract.
  • For compliance with our legal obligations, like providing information to enforcement agencies.
  • For our legitimate interests (managing our everyday business) except where such interests are overridden by your interests or your fundamental rights and freedoms which require protection of personal data.
  • For the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

Who collects your personal data

Your personal data that SOC processes is collected by the legal representatives and by Sabrina O’Carroll Consultants.

What type of data we collect and how do we use it

We collect the following data for the purpose of undertaking Expert Assessment and to write an Expert Nursing Report as instructed by a party to the legal proceedings:

  • Your personal information (as name, contact details, age, occupation, family status and daily activities) as relevant to facilitate and provide an Expert Assessment & Report.
  • Your medical information (past and current) as necessary to provide an Expert Assessment & Report.

Who do we share your information with

The Nursing Report is discharged to the legal party who has provided instruction. When we act as Expert Witness in Court our evidence will be based on the Expert Report we have prepared.

We may also share personal data with other parties such as relevant health agencies, medical consultants, care consultants, doctors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, vocational consultants or care consultants, if necessary, for the preparation of our Expert Assessment.

Storage of your personal data

We strive to ensure that your data is processed and storage safely and we will keep it for the minimum amount of time necessary in compliance with data protection regulations.

Your rights

You have the following rights over your personal data:

  • To be informed about the collection and use of your personal data
  • Of access, to obtain a copy of your personal data
  • To rectification of inaccurate personal data and also to have incomplete personal data completed
  • To erasure of your personal data
  • To restrict processing of your personal data
  • To object the processing of your personal data

These rights are in some circumstances limited by data protection legislation.

If you wish to have access to the personal data SOC may have about you, please contact us at dataprotection@sabrinaocarroll.ie. If access cannot be provided within a reasonable time frame, SOC will provide you with a date when the information will be provided. If for some reason access cannot be granted at the time of the request, SOC will provide an explanation as to why.
